Longframlington has two pubs – The Village Inn & The Granby, both a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive from Willowdene. We also have The Running Fox bakery and cafe for lunch or afternoon tea, newsagents & Carr’s Corner award winning corner shop.
If you travel a little further for food there are: The Anglers Arms(10 min drive) and The Cook and Barker(10 min drive)
Alnwick, Rothbury & Morpeth are all a 15 minute drive and offer a selection of shops, restaurants, swimming pools and visitor attractions. Major attractions are Alnwick Castle & Alnwick Gardens, Cragisde National Trust, Wallington Hall NT, the hills of Simonside and Coquet Valley. (Click on name for more information)
Slightly further afield are the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle, Chillingham Castle. Walks on the coastal paths, Druridge Bay and up in the Cheviot hills.
Northumberland’s roads were made for cycling – there are two sustrans routes Route 1 & 68, and the Wooler Wheel. There are also opportunities for mountain biking in Thrunton Woods (10 minutes) or Kielder (40 minutes), or if you’re feeling adventurous try the Sandstone Way. We have undercover bike storage if you bring bikes.
